I am delighted to write to you with information and booking details for the first ever UK Hakomi residential. It will take place from Friday 14th to Wednesday 19th July 2017 in the lovely surroundings of the Sheldon Retreat Centre in Devon. It will be lead by Senior Hakomi Trainers Caroline Braham, Sophie Cattier and Trudy Johnston.
The residential, like the UK trainings, will be multi-level so it will be relevant to those with some experience of Hakomi and those who are new to the method.
The gathering will be a wonderful opportunity for us to deepen our Hakomi practice together, enjoy each other’s company and celebrate and develop our Hakomi community in the UK. In addition, we will be able to enjoy the beautiful and extensive grounds at Sheldon in full Summer!
Accommodation at Sheldon is in twin bedded rooms. The price for accommodation, tuition and food is £650 or £662 depending on which option you choose for bedding and towels.
The Sheldon website states:
‘Each bed is provided with two pillows and 2 blankets. Each guest should bring their own towel and bed linen (this would be 2 pillow cases plus either 2 sheets, 1 sheet and a duvet with cover, or a sleeping bag).’
Sheldon will provide towels and bedding referred to above for £12 so if you choose this option the total price of the retreat will be £662.
We ask that you pay a non-refundable deposit of £260 to book your place on the residential and the balance of £390 or £402 (depending on your bedding option), also non-refundable, closer to the date of the event. In faith and hope that we can make the residential happen, members of the organising group have already paid Sheldon a non-refundable deposit for the hire of the venue.
There will be an option to camp in the grounds but only if all the indoor accommodation gets taken up. So, if you would prefer to camp, please book for indoor accommodation first, and indicate on the booking form that you would like to camp. If camping becomes available it will cost £450 per person which will include tuition and food.
If you and another person making a booking would like to share a room together, please indicate this on the booking form.
Three people have volunteered to cook for the residential. The meals will be simple and vegetarian. It is expected that participants will help the cooks to prepare one meal during their stay.
Arrival is from 4pm on Friday 14th July. Sessions will start at 10 am on Saturday morning 15th July. Departure is after 4pm on Wednesday 19th July.

Sheldon is 9 miles south west of Exeter close to Dartmoor. Exeter has an airport and it has good rail and road links with the rest of the country.

To enable us to pay for the venue on time, the balance, non-refundable, is due by 16th April. You are welcome to pay the balance in two instalments, if that is easier for you, on 16th January and 16th April 2017.
